OSA 5430 Series Compact PTP Grandmaster Clock

Compact, redundant, high-capacity PTP grandmaster, SB/MB-GNSS receiver

The OSA 5430 from Oscilloquartz, an ADVA Optical Network company, is designed to help network operators achieve stringent phase and time synchronization requirements. The OSA 5430 is the first IEEE 1588 grandmaster clock device on the market to support PTP, NTP and SyncE over multiple 10Gbit/s Ethernet interfaces. It is the only synchronization solution of its kind to provide fully redundant hardware, meaning that if one critical module fails, another instantly takes over, ensuring no loss of performance or service delivery.

In June 2023, ADVA Optical Networking SE has officially changed its name to Adtran Networks SE. The products of ADVA will continue to be available from CoverTel as usual. Logo change of products from ADVA to Adtran will be done progressively.

Description

OSA 5430 Series PTP Grandmaster Clock

Advanced high-capacity synchronization solution

The OSA 5430 from Oscilloquartz, an ADVA company, is a carrier-grade ePRTC, PRTC A/B, SSU and IEEE 1588v2 grandmaster clock that supports 10Gbit/s and 1Gbit/s interfaces with hardware timestamping. Its modular design and technology-focused cards make it easy to migrate technologies and expand capacity. Its NTP server, multiple BITS/composite clock (CC) outputs and GNSS receiver capabilities, make it ideal for the smooth upgrade of legacy synchronization architectures. In addition to delivering precise timing to DOCSIS 3.1 remote PHY devices, the OSA 5430 is a powerful tool for cable operators to meet the growing demand. With a scalable and fully redundant design, the OSA 5430 offers the highest configuration flexibility and reliability. In addition, ADVA’s integrated Syncjack™ technology enables in-service synchronization monitoring and assurance without the need for expensive test equipment. Next-generation technologies such as LTE-A and 5G can now be synchronized in a cost-effective and accurate manner with the OSA 5430.

It is also the industry’s first protected PTP-over-10Gbit/s interface for the delivery of frequency, phase and time synchronization over packet-based networks. The technology offers enormous capacity, supporting up to 1024 PTP slaves at 128pps and supports multiple interfaces to provide a smooth migration from legacy to next-generation sync.
