VIAVI offers a free anti-theft solution that allows instrument owners to enable or disable their instruments via software configuration so instruments can only be used by authorized users.
VIAVI StrataSync™ Core allows customers to enable or disable an “Anti-Theft” mode. Once the Anti-Theft feature is enabled, and the instrument synchronizes with StrataSync, the anti-theft settings are transferred to the instrument and can’t be overwritten without authorization from the StrataSync account owner. Using StrataSync, the account owner can authorize the use of the instrument by configuring:
- Number of days between syncs
- Number of power cycles without StrataSync synchronization
