PDH and New SDH (PoS) Fundamentals –This course will allow technicians to gain a clear understanding of current SDH networks and technology. It will explain network elements, timing & synchronisation, framing & payloads providing attendees with an understanding of how the technology works, and what to look for when testing an SDH system.
The objectives of the course are to understand SDH network elements (ADM’s, TM’s SXC’s…); To understand SDH Framing (RSOH, MSOH, POH, AU-ptr, STM-n); To understand payload mapping techniques (Container, VC, TU, TUG, AU, AUG); To understand overhead and alarm functions; To understand the fault finding procedures for SDH networks.
